About Us

At Brighter Learning Family Care we believe it takes a village to help raise children and support families with young children. We provide before/after school care with transportation from local schools and child care centers, summer camp, drop-in care during non-traditional hours, door-to-door child and family transportation, family/parent mentoring and other resources to support families with young children.

Our Owner

Ms. Crystal has been caring for young children for 20+ years. She joined the early childhood education field at 15 years old when she began observing children at the child care center located in her high school. She then completed a work-study placement as an infant teacher’s aide in her mother’s small daycare center in her childhood home in Towson, Maryland. Her early passion for supporting families with young children continued to grow and she became a licensed family child provider at 18 years old.

 

Ms. Crystal continued growing in the early childhood field by completing her Associate of Arts degree in Early Childhood Development and Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. Throughout the years she has taught many young children and promoted to administration at various licensed child care programs throughout Baltimore County, Howard County, and an Early Head Start program in Baltimore City. Outside of providing child care and family services, she also was a children's librarian associate for Head Start children and an early childhood education instructor through a local library system.

 

Having always valued family, unity, growth, and support, Ms. Crystal's passion for working with children and families  continues in the work she does today. In her free time she tends to the simple joys in life such as spending time with family and friends, eating Maryland blue crabs, relaxing at a spa, exploring a new restaurant, and traveling with her silky terrier, Khloe.
